Create: 05/16/2016 - 19:06

For at least the 2nd time in Wellington Football History, a former Quarterback has been named Head Coach. A couple decades ago, 1982 graduate Linn Hibbs returned home to lead the IRONDUKES, his QB in '03 will now take the helm in 2016 - Zane Aguilar! Aguilar has been as assistant coach with Wellington for nearly a decade. Aguilar will replace 4 year coach Tyler Ryan who recently resigned and will be moving to Holton with his wife Stephanie for teaching jobs there.

Interviews took place last week. Approximately 3 dozen applications were received but that was narrowed down to a smaller grouping for actual face to face interviews.

Zane is presently employed with the school district as an elementary P.E. instructor. Aguilar will move from that position to the HS P.E. position opened up as well by Ryan's departure.  Zane is married to wife Liz who teaches 3rd grade at Washington Elementary. They have 1 child, a daughter.
